The Houston Texans have cut ties with quarterback Ryan Mallett . There has been a string of issues leading up to his release. Mallett overslept and missed a practice at camp, which was the first red flag. Things really spiraled Week 5 though. Mallett asked out of the game after taking a hard hit. Brian Hoyer came in for what Mallett thought would be a play or two and never came back out. Mallett pouted on the sidelines all game and afterwards in the post-game press conference. Then he missed the team flight to Miami this past week.
