Panthers first-round pick LB Shaq Thompson will miss rookie minicamp with a hamstring injury

The Panthers first-round pick Shaq Thompson tweaked his hamstring on Friday and is not expected to return to action until June 16. The Injury is not considered to be overly serious but Carolina is playing it safe with their athletic young rookie. According to head coach Ron Rivera, Thompson will be re-evaluated on Saturday, however, they will not take risks with their talented rookie. "You don't want him to go out and hurt it so he can't work out while he's gone," Rivera said. "We've got to be smart about that."

Fantasy Analysis:

Thompson is considered a bit of a raw talent as an athletic OLB/S hybrid.
