The 2016 Sprint Cup Series season unofficially begins Saturday night at Daytona International Speedway with the Sprint Unlimited. The exhibition race is different from a regular season event in many ways, including the qualifying procedure. Instead of running laps to determine where each driver will start, crew chiefs simply draw a starting spot.
