Jaguars RB Toby Gerhart showing 'burst and acceleration' this offseason

The Jaguars signed Toby Gerhart prior to last season with the intentions of making him their feature-back. Unfortunately he did not perform very well. He averaged only 3.2 yards per carry, which could be partly due to nagging injuries. This year rookie T.J. Yeldon is expected to take over as the starting back. Gerhart will likely be the primary backup and handcuff to Yeldon. Jags RBs coach Kelly Skipper has been impressed with Gerhart this offseason. "I saw improvement in his burst and acceleration and he made play after play in the spring so I'm excited to see what he can bring in the fall," Skipper said.
