Cowboys running back Gus Johnson was the workhorse back in the preseason opener before injuring his shoulder. Johnson rushed 13 times for 35 yards and was the clear RB1 with Darren McFadden and Joseph Randle sidelined. The injury is reportedly an AC joint separation. Lache Seastrunck replaced him after the injury. Seastrunk rushed for 16 yards on five carries.
