Although the Colts went for gold and drafted WR Phillip Dorsett, he isn't guaranteed a starting spot within their rotation. According to Mike Wells, an ESPN Colts reporter, the WR3 position on the roster is an open competition between Donte Moncrief, Duron Carter, Vincent Brown and Phillip Dorsett. T.Y Hilton and Andre Johnson will hold the WR1 and WR2 spots while everyone else battles for the WR3 position. Although their first-round pick isn't guaranteed a starting position his first season in a Colts uniform, he will have an opportunity to make an impact on special teams as a return man.
