The wide receiver group is deep this year, so you can get away with starting a lot of different players. If you're torn between a few players, use my rankings to figure out who to start and who to sit. I list the top 50 because there aren't any worth playing beyond that.
Byes: Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, San Diego Chargers & Washington Redskins
Last Update: Nov. 8
Other Rankings: QB, RB, WR, TE, DEF
Rank & Player | Opponent | Notes |
1. Antonio Brown, PIT | @NYJ | Brown has been nothing short of spectacular this year. |
2. Demaryius Thomas, DEN | @OAK | Thomas is always a safe start and has a good matchup. |
3. Jordy Nelson, GB | CHI | Nelson has been on fire. |
4. Julio Jones, ATL | @TB | A very nice matchup for Julio. |
5. Jeremy Maclin, PHI | CAR | Maclin has an incredible amount of targets. Keep playing him. |
6. Randall Cobb, GB | @NO | Given that the Packers throw the ball a ton, Cobb is safe play. |
7. Calvin Johnson, DET | MIA | Looks like Calvin will return this week. |
8. Dez Bryant, DAL | @JAC | Hopefully Romo plays. Bryant isn't as good with Weeden at QB. Then again, who is? |
9. Emmanuel Sanders, DEN | @OAK | Sanders has been killing it lately. |
10. Brandon Marshall, CHI | @GB | Marshall hasn't looked himself. I think he returns to form following his bye. |
11. A.J. Green, CIN | CLE | Green played last week and looked good enough. UPDATE: A disappointing 2 points for Green. I blame Dalton. |
12. Alshon Jeffery, CHI | @GB | Jeffery hasn't put up massive outputs, but has produce mostly solid ones. He's worth playing. |
13. Kelvin Benjamin, CAR | @PHI | Benjamin caught just two passes last week, but had 10 targets. Don't panic. |
14. Sammy Watkins, BUF | @NYJ | Watkins is questionable with an injury. Be careful with him. |
15. Roddy White, ATL | @TB | A solid matchup this week for White. |
16. Golden Tate, DET | MIA | Johnson should be back, which hurts Tate's value. He's still worth playing though. |
17. Mohamed Sanu, CIN | CLE | Even with Green back, Sanu is a viable flex play. UPDATE: Another victim of Green's poor play. |
18. Mike Wallace, MIA | @DET | Not an ideal matchup for Wallace this week. |
19. Larry Fitzgerald, ARI | STL | Fitz has looked better lately. Hopefully that continues. |
20. Steve Smith, BAL | TEN | Smith hasn't played great lately, but he's still getting plenty of targets. |
21. Odell Beckham, NYG | @SEA | Two straight big games for Beckham. He is available in a surprising amount of leagues. |
22. Vincent Jackson, TB | ATL | Jackson is starting to turn into a boom-or-bust player. |
23. Percy Harvin, NYJ | PIT | Playing with Vick should help Harvin. |
24. Martavis Bryant, PIT | @NYJ | All Bryant does is catch TD passes. |
25. Mike Evans, TB | ATL | Evans has been outplaying Jackson lately. |
26. Michael Floyd, ARI | STL | Floyd has been inconsistent, so be careful playing him. |
27. Eric Decker, NYJ | PIT | Decker needs touchdowns to be worth playing, and that's tough to bank on. |
28. Michael Crabtree, SF | @NO | It's a good matchup for Crabtree, but he hasn't produced much this season. |
29. Doug Baldwin, SEA | NYG | No Harvin really helps Baldwin. He's available in a surprising amount of leagues. |
30. Brandin Cooks, NO | SF | Cooks has been really inconsistent this season. |
31. Torrey Smith, BAL | TEN | Don't fall for the TD trap. He's not catching many passes. |
32. Rueben Randle, NYG | @SEA | Tough matchup for Randle this week. |
33. Terrance Williams, DAL | @JAC | See Bryant, Dez. |
34. Marques Colston, NO | SF | Colston is often a boom-or-bust play. |
35. Anquan Boldin, SF | @NO | I don't trust Boldin very much. |
36. Allen Robinson, JAC | DAL | Robinson has actually put up solid numbers lately. |
37. Andre Holmes, OAK | DEN | Holmes is completely boom-or-bust. |
38. Kendall Wright, TEN | @BAL | Until Wright becomes consistent, he is a backup at best right now. |
39. Davante Adams, GB | CHI | A good matchup for Adams, who has put up at least seven points in four straight weeks. |
40. James Jones, OAK | DEN | Someone has to catch passes in Oakland. |
41. Justin Hunter, TEN | @BAL | I think Hunter's 15 point effort in Week 5 was a fluke. We'll see if that changes. |
42. Cecil Shorts, JAC | DAL | Shorts doesn't have a great matchup and hasn't shown any consistency. |
43. John Brown, ARI | STL | Brown is too inconsistent to trust right now. |
44. Jordan Matthews, PHI | CAR | He gets plenty of targets, but not enough to merit playing. |
45. Dwayne Bowe, KC | @BUF | Do you trust Bowe? Cause I don't. |
46. Markus Wheaton, PIT | @NYJ | Wheaton has been a beneficiary of Big Ben's great play. |
47. Riley Cooper, PHI | CAR | A lot of teams are on bye. |
48. Allen Hurns, JAC | DAL | Hurns is the epitome of a boom-or-bust player. |
49. Miles Austin, CLE | @CIN | Pencil in 3-5 points for Austin each week. UPDATE: And Austin put up 4 points. |
50. Andrew Hawkins, CLE | @CIN | Hawkins has played well lately, but he's a bit banged up. UPDATE: Hawkins is out for Thursday |
