A young Everton side bowed out of the Liverpool Senior Cup after Sam Wilkie's first-half header handed Litherland Remyca a 1-0 quarter-final win.
Despite the disappointing result, the Toffees started brightly against their hosts, with Daniel Bramall, David Henen, Bassala Sambou and Alex Denny all going close to opening the scoring in the early stages.
But 15 minutes before the half-time interval - and against the run of play - Remyca broke the deadlock. The Blues failed to clear Colin Quirk's deep corner, before Stephen King's cross was eventually headed home by Wilkie.
