Yakubu has recalled his memories of Everton’s thumping 7-1 win over Sunderland back in November 2007 - and has backed the Blues to once again triumph over the Black Cats this weekend.
The Nigerian striker, who scored 37 goals in 107 games for the Toffees, recently returned to English football with a move to League One outfit Coventry City.
Everton are currently unbeaten in 2017 and Yakubu believes Ronald Koeman’s side will be itching to return to competitive football after a two-week break since their last Premier League outing.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s clash at Goodison Park, the 34-year-old has discussed the time he scored a brace as the Blues recorded an emphatic win over Roy Keane’s side almost a decade ago.
