Aiden McGeady helped Preston North End record a fine 2-1 away win at Bristol City on Saturday.
The on-loan winger started and played 80 minutes as the Lilywhites struck late to earn a victory which keeps them in 11th position in the Championship, just five points adrift of the play-offs.
It was also a good afternoon’s work for Russell Griffiths as Cheltenham Town picked up a much-needed three points at Morecambe.
Goalkeeper Griffiths was making the 26th appearance of his loan stay with the Robins, who moved level on points with 22nd-placed Accrington Stanley following the 2-1 away success at the Globe Arena.
