Ashley Williams hailed the work rate of his Everton teammates after they helped him mark his full Premier League debut with a clean sheet and a win.
The summer arrival started against Stoke City at Goodison Park and won the penalty from which the Blues registered the game’s only goal.
Williams, 32, also shone in defence, keeping the Potters at bay alongside skipper Phil Jagielka as Ronald Koeman’s men maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign.
And, having come off the bench a week earlier in the 2-1 victory at West Bromwich Albion and played a full 90 minutes in last Tuesday’s 4-0 EFL Cup defeat of Yeovil Town, Williams is satisfied with how his start to life on Merseyside is shaping up.
