West Brom striker Salomon Rondon is planning to visit James McCarthy in hospital as the Everton midfielder faces surgery on a double leg fracture.
Rondon was in tears after accidentally kicking McCarthy’s leg in the challenge that led to the injury. He had to be consoled by manager Alan Pardew and later posted a message of support for the Ireland international, saying he felt ‘absolutely devastated’.
Rondon’s reaction was well received by Everton fans and he has contacted McCarthy’s family to tell them he plans to visit once the midfielder is ready.

McCarthy was taken to a Liverpool hospital on Saturday and had the first stage of treatment to ensure his double fracture is clear of any infection.
