Wayne Rooney has revealed his desire to manage boyhood club Everton in the future once his playing days on Merseyside are over.
The Everton striker sealed an emotional return to Goodison Park in the summer after leaving Manchester United as the Red Devils' all-time top goalscorer.
But while Rooney is remaining focused on his playing career, he is targeting a future in management once he eventually decides to hang his boots up.
Speaking in an interview with the Telegraph columnist Jamie Carragher, Rooney said: 'I would love to stay at Everton in a coaching role or hopefully as a manager one day.
