Everton manager Sam Allardyce has dismissed claims Wayne Rooney is frustrated with his role at the club, insisting ‘has never had a problem’ with the striker during his time in charge at Goodison Park.
Recent reports have suggested Rooney has grown disillusioned by his role in the team, as well as the club’s lack of progress during his first season back at his boyhood club.
The 32-year-old was seen in a subdued mood during the Toffees’ lap of honour after their final home game of the season, a 1-1 draw with Southampton, on Saturday.
