Wayne Rooney and his Everton team-mates board flight ahead of Hajduk Split clash as Toffees striker calls time on stellar England career

Wayne Rooney has turned his attentions back to Everton after announcing his retirement from international football as the striker boarded the team's flight to Crotia ahead of their game with Hajduk Split.

Ronald Koeman's men, who take a 2-0 lead going into the Europa League play-off round second leg against the Croatian outfit, were snapped stepping onto their plane on Wednesday at the Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

Rooney, Michael Keane, Ashley Williams and youngsters Jordan Pickford, Mason Holgate and Dominic Calvert-Lewin all seemed in high spirits on the eve of the clash.
