Footballing youngsters received an early Christmas present this week, when Everton in the Community (EitC) helped to deliver hundreds of pounds’ worth of new boots.
Working with the Club’s official charity, Liverpool Citizens Ltd donated the funds to a new girls’ team on County Road, which was formed to help engage females through football as part of EitC’s Premier League for Girls programme.
On hand to surprise the group at The Academy of St Francis of Assisi was Everton Ladies player, Claudia Walker, who posed for photos before getting stuck-in for a kickabout.
Commenting on the visit, she said: “It’s been great to meet the young ladies and I’m sure that they’ll be making use of their new boots very soon!
