Everton Under-18s boss Paul Tait will be demanding his players “give it a right go” against Sunderland on Tuesday as the Toffees aim to hit straight back from their defeat at Manchester City.
The Blues went down 6-1 at City's Academy Stadium on Saturday and while Tait acknowledged Everton’s opponents were “much the better side”, he said the scoreline did not reflect the pattern of the game.
After falling behind to goals from Keke Simmonds and Nabil Touaizi, the Toffees halved the deficit on the half-hour mark – Korede Adedoyin on target from the penalty spot after Ellis Simms was upended in the box.
