A new potential investor backed by at least two billionaires has entered the race to buy Everton, according to reports.
The Toffees have been looking for a new owner, with Farhad Moshiri fielding a number of offers following a failed bid by US-based investment firm 777 Partners in late May.
Former suitors 777 missed a 5am deadline to provide funds to proceed with a sale and purchase agreement (SPA) for Moshiri's 94.1 per cent stake, with the British-Iranian businessman deciding not to grant a deadline extension.
Now though a new option has thrown their hat in the ring, with the Times reporting that UK-based Vici Private Finance have offered concrete terms to Moshiri in the last week.
