Former Everton player Tom Gardner has died at the age of 93.
He was the oldest surviving player to have ever appeared for the first team and in 2014 he was very much a part of the video produced by the Club to celebrate the renewal of our partnership with Umbro.
Tom played just one game for the Blues – a 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers in October 1947 – before injury ruined his top-flight career.
Alongside him at Goodison that afternoon were legends like Harry Catterick, Ted Sagar, TG Jones and Gordon Watson with a certain Billy Wright in the Wolves team!
