Tom Evans – the father of Alfie Evans, the young Evertonian boy who passed away last week after spending more than a year in hospital – was bestowed with the Chairman’s Blueblood Award at The Dixies.
The annual award is given to individuals who Chairman Bill Kenwright believes “embody the Evertonian spirit”.
Tom was presented with the accolade by Mr Kenwright at the Philharmonic Hall to rapturous applause from those in attendance.
Speaking after presenting the award, Mr Kenwright said: "Tom has just whispered in my ear, ‘He would be proud, wouldn’t he?’ Well Tom , every second he was proud of you.
