David Unsworth praised the ‘winning feeling’ flowing throughout his team after Everton Under-23s defeated Swansea City 2-0 in the Premier League Cup semi-final at the Liberty Stadium.
The Premier League 2 champions maintained their bid for a double this season thanks to goals from forwards Fraser Hornby and Bassala Sambou in south Wales to book a final against Newcastle United at Goodison Park.
“They’ve got that winning feeling and it’s a great habit to have,” said Unsworth. “The basis of our season has been on clean sheets and nicking a goal here and there and it could have been a lot more comfortable today.
