Super League clubs have been warned they must make a seismic U-turn and reunite with the Rugby Football League if they are to survive the coronavirus crisis.
Almost two years ago, a bitter power struggle saw the 12 top-flight clubs split from the governing body to take control of their own destiny with Robert Elstone arriving from Everton to head up a new board.
But with many clubs at all levels battling to avoid financial ruin and players and staff on furloughed leave, it is RFL supremo Ralph Rimmer who is leading negotiations over Government bail-outs.
