Francis Jeffers has revealed his regret at leaving his beloved Everton during his playing days.
The boyhood Blue went from season-ticket holder to first-team star after making his Toffees debut at Manchester United aged 16 years and 336 days in December 1997.
But after scoring 20 goals in 45 starts for the Club, the Academy graduate made an £8million switch to Arsenal in June 2001.
Despite being dubbed the “fox in the box” by Gunners manager Arsene Wenger upon moving to north London as a 20-year-old, Jeffers struggled to make an impression in the capital, rejoining Everton on loan in September 2003 before subsequent moves including Charlton, Blackburn and Sheffield Wednesday.
