Maarten Stekelenburg earned the 57th appearance of his senior international career in Holland’s 1-1 friendly draw against Belgium on Wednesday evening.
The Blues goalkeeper, who played the full game, went up against his Everton teammate Romelu Lukaku at the Amsterdam Arena.
Lukaku was named on the bench before stepping into the action in the 64th minute. Kevin Mirallas was also a substitute but not called upon.
Davy Klaassen’s penalty in the first half gave Holland the advantage at the break, before Yannick Ferreira Carrasco levelled the scores late on.
Watching on from the stands was Blues boss Ronald Koeman who was attending the match with his son.
