Ronald Koeman has revealed he plans to keep Maarten Stekelenburg as his first-choice goalkeeper after giving a glowing endorsement of the Dutchman's start to life at Goodison Park.
Stekelenburg has appeared in all four of Everton's games this term and kept a second successive clean sheet in Saturday's 1-0 win over Stoke City.
And while Koeman hopes to add another goalkeeper to his ranks before Wednesday's deadline, he is looking for someone to support rather than usurp the 33-year-old summer arrival.
"We’re still looking for a goalkeeper because we’d like to have three good goalkeepers in case of injuries, so the manager is not afraid to use the other two," said Koeman.
