Andy Spence hailed the “fantastic effort” from his side as they were edged 1-0 by WSL 1 leaders Chelsea.
Magdalena Eriksson’s 12th-minute header was the only goal of a keenly contested game, as the Blue Girls again went toe-to-toe with a side who have reached the Champions League semi-finals.
And they could have snatched a deserved point late on when Angharad James’ shot came within the width of the crossbar of levelling matters in the 87th minute.
But while the result was again a frustrating one, Spence was proud of his players as they again showed how much potential is in this young Everton side.
