Seamus Coleman struggling to come to terms with double leg break, says Republic of Ireland boss Martin O'Neill: 'He's still pretty down'

Martin O'Neill says Seamus Coleman is still struggling to come to terms with the double leg break which will keep him out until 2018.

The Republic of Ireland and Everton defender remains in hospital in Dublin having undergone surgery on the broken tibia and fibula he suffered following Neil Taylor's horror challenge during Friday night's goalless draw with Wales.

O'Neill has been to see Coleman again this week - he also visited in the late hours of Friday - and admits his captain is feeling the psychological effects of the injury.

'He's just coming to terms with it, he's still pretty down,' said O'Neill, whose side entertain Iceland in a friendly this evening.
