Lee Dixon won four English titles and three FA Cups during a glittering 14 years with Arsenal.
Part of the Gunners team that snatched the Championship from Liverpool in the final minute of the 1988/89 campaign, Dixon constituted a quarter of one of football’s most revered back fours, completed by redoubtable trio Tony Adams, Steve Bould and Nigel Winterburn.
He was ever-present in George Graham’s miserly 1990/91 Arsenal team, which conceded only 18 goals in 38 games en route to a second title in three years.
Dixon retired in 2002, having made 619 Gunners’ appearances to sit fourth on the club’s all-time list behind David O’Leary, Adams and George Armstrong.
