Remember, remember that bleak November. It is the little things that jog your memory and a reminder on social media on Wednesday morning brought it all back.
A year ago today, the news began to break that Sam Allardyce had effectively been appointed the new manager of Everton; official confirmation would not follow for another 72 hours but the deal had been done, wrapped up by major shareholder Farhad Moshiri and Keith Harris.
Allardyce visited Goodison Park the following night - though he was not officially in charge, he would later say he made the difference with a team talk before a 4-0 victory over West Ham - and on Saturday, December 2, he was in the dugout for a game against Huddersfield.
