Sylvain Distin has told talkSPORT he is disappointed by Sam Allardyce’s appointment as new Everton manager.

Allardyce has signed an 18-month deal to succeed Ronald Koeman, who was sacked over a month ago.

The ex-England boss will be tasked with keeping the Toffees in the Premier League after a dreadful start to the season, although he was watching in the stands as Wayne Rooney and Co.
