Romelu Lukaku transfer: Karren Brady reveals Everton striker twice rejected West Ham move because of Champions League ambitions

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku twice rejected a move to West Ham United, vice-chairwoman Karren Brady has said.

The Belgium international is widely tipped to leave Goodison Park in the summer after his rejecting of a new contract and comments questioning the direction of the Toffees emerged earlier this year.

He's been open in his desire to perform in the Champions League and Brady has revealed that was key to his snubbing of a switch to the Hammers.

'We have twice tried to buy him [Romelu Lukaku] but he wants a club playing Champions League football – and quickly', Brady wrote in her column for The Sun.
