Romelu Lukaku is considering taking legal action against Everton's majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri.
The former Toffees striker, who left for Manchester United in the summer, is furious at claims he rejected a new contract with the Merseyside club because of a 'voodoo message'.
Speaking at Everton's AGM on Tuesday, Moshiri said Lukaku was all set to extend his stay when he made the revelation at a meeting in March 2017.
The Belgian was wanted by Chelsea at the time but rejected their interest to join Premier League rivals United in a £75million deal.
