Everton Under-18s stretched their unbeaten run to eight games after Fraser Hornby’s first-half strike handed them a point against West Bromwich Albion at Finch Farm.
Despite their impressive streak, Kevin Sheedy’s side got off to the worst possible start as they fell behind inside the opening minute.
Jordan Piggott’s long ball found Taylor Morrison who advanced into the Blues’ box, before pulling the ball back for the onrushing Marcus Forss and he fired past Chris Renshaw in the Everton goal.
To their credit, Everton responded well to going a goal down, and went close to levelling when Daniel Bramall’s free-kick was headed over by Callum Lees.
