Everton have reportedly ditched their efforts to to appoint ex-Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez as manager.
The Spaniard who famously won the Champions League with Liverpool, was expected to be appointed as manager of Everton despite still being worshipped at Anfield.
However, his connection to the red half of the city, meant swathes of Everton supporters were furious with the prospect of the 61-year-old replacing Carlo Ancelotti as manager.

Talksport have now reported the club has listened to unhappy supporters, and decided not to offer Benitez a deal.
