Rafa Benitez has warned Everton may not be able to spend heavily in the January window even though he needs significant reinforcements.
Everton have been linked with a number of targets in recent weeks, including a loan move for Manchester United's out of favour midfielder Donny van de Beek and Alexander Golovin, the Russia international at Monaco.
Benitez refused to get drawn into the names of players he would like to sign but he elaborated on what business Everton may be able to do - and, after what was a prudent summer owing to Financial Fair Play restrictions, there could be more of the same in the New Year.
