The youngster made everyone take notice of him with an excellent goal on his second league start for the club, which happened to be in a 4-0 win against Man City in January. He expertly dinked the ball over Claudio Bravo and at 18 has already cemented his place in Ronald Koeman’s first team plans.

Barkley didn’t have a great start to the season, but his form has recovered and the 23-year-old believes he is playing his best football. Barkley has 16 months left on his current Everton deal, but Ronald Koeman said the club will do everything they can to keep him given that Man City manager Pep Guardiola said he would like to have more English players in his side.
