Jordan Pickford insists Everton are “only moving forward” after picking up a last-gasp point at Brighton on Sunday.
Anthony Knockaert thought he had won it for the newly-promoted Seagulls when he lashed the ball past the Blues’ glovesman with eight minutes left to play at the Amex Stadium.
But Wayne Rooney kept his cool from the spot to level and the Toffees were only denied victory by a fantastic double save from Albion keeper Mat Ryan, who twice thwarted substitute Kevin Mirallas.
So while Everton were frustrated to take only the one point back to Merseyside, Pickford insists the Blues will build on a performance on the south coast that demonstrated their fighting spirit.
