Jordan Pickford said Everton showed their “character and never-say-die attitude” in their clash with Manchester United on Sunday.
The Blues were edged out 2-1 by the Red Devils but were more progressive side for large periods at Old Trafford, creating a host of chances against Jose Mourinho’s men.
Andre Gomes, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Theo Walcott all had opportunities for the Toffees in the first half but it was United who broke the deadlock – Paul Pogba slotting home the rebound after his penalty was brilliantly saved by Pickford.
Anthony Martial curled home a second after the break but the Blues refused to buckle.
