David Unsworth was beaming with pride after his Everton team got their Checkatrade Trophy campaign off to a flying start with a 2-0 win against Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday.
Unsworth said the victory over the League One side, secured courtesy of goals from Calum Dyson and Conor McAleny, ranked alongside the best nights in his footballing career.
After one round of fixtures in the competition, Everton sit top of Group A, level on points with Blackpool who beat Cheltenham Town 2-1 also on Tuesday night.
Unsworth explained: “It was an outstanding performance from everybody.
