Twelve years on from opening his account for Everton in a game against Aston Villa, the legendary Dixie Dean scored his 383rd and final goal for the Blues on this day in 1937.
A March 1925 signing from Tranmere Rovers, the 18-year-old had made his debut the previous weekend away at Arsenal, a team who, coincidently, would go on to become the opponents for a number of other Dean landmarks.
The most famous saw the much-loved striker net a hat-trick to reach his record-breaking 60th league goal of the season in a 3-3 draw with the Gunners in May 1928.
