Agust Hlynsson’s thunderbolt and an own goal from Con Ouzounidis in the opening period meant the young Blues’ spirited second-half performance and Manasse Mampala’s strike just before the hour mark proved little more than a consolation.
The visitors dominated the early exchanges and took a deserved lead on 21 minutes. Kieran Higgs laid the ball back into the path Hlynsson, who composed himself before letting fly with a stunning 35-yard strike that flew into the top corner of Ben Pierce’s net.
