Sam Allardyce has told talkSPORT it was only a minority of Everton supporters who wanted him out as manager.
Allardyce was axed as Toffees boss on Wednesday, following growing discontent among the fans about the style of football under the former England chief.
But, speaking exclusively to talkSPORT 24 hours after his Goodison Park departure, Big Sam said he felt the majority of fans were happy with his work in stabilising the club and would have been pleased to see him continue as manager next season.
Speaking to talkSPORT host Jim White, Allardyce said on Thursday: “I would say most of the Everton fans didn’t want me out… the fans who show discontent are always more vocal.
