Manchester United and Leeds join the race for Sheffield United centre-back Kyron Gordon... with Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton also eyeing up 18-year-old prospect

Manchester United and Leeds have joined the growing band of clubs to monitor Sheffield United prospect Kyron Gordon.

The 18-year old centre back has been in and around United’s first team squad this season after impressing playing for the Bramall Lane club’s U23s and working with the first team in training.

Previous boss Chris Wilder and Paul Heckingbottom have both been pleased with Gordon’s development and attitude as the teenager pushes for his breakthrough with another year left on his contract.

Merseyside rivals Everton and Liverpool have also taken note of Gordon’s progress this season but now Manchester United and Leeds have watched the young defender as they consider potential new recruits.
