Gylfi Sigurdsson’s wonderfully-crafted goal secured a fine victory for Everton at Leicester City on Saturday.
Marco Silva’s team performed with tremendous intensity from the first whistle, responding to their manager’s demand to replicate the urgency and quality of the second-half effort which earned last week’s success over Fulham.
Richarlison put Everton ahead on seven minutes in the East Midlands but the Blues were pegged back when Ricardo Pereira broke to score shortly before half-time.
Leicester centre-back Wes Morgan was sent off on 63 minutes after picking up a second yellow card – both for fouls on Richarlison – and 14 minutes later Sigurdsson summoned his latest piece of magic.
