Leeds United winger Willy Gnonto was left out of their line-up to face Shrewsbury Town in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night as he seeks a move away.

Mail Sport understands that Gnonto asked not to be considered for the First Round North tie as he wants the club to consider letting him go before the window closes.

Leeds have been steadfast in their response to interested parties saying they don't wish to sell the Italy international who has four years left on contract after signing last September from Zurich.

He made a big impact during a difficult season that saw Leeds relegated and has attracted a number of enquiries with the likes of Burnley, Freiburg, Inter Milan and Everton all interested.
