Everton Ladies assistant boss Martin Ho and captain Michelle Hinnigan both insist the Blue Girls will go into Sunday’s Merseyside derby high on confidence.
In their previous outing, Everton defeated Sheffield FC to leap to the top of the WSL 2 Spring Series table, and Ho was impressed by the mental resilience he saw in the 2-1 win.
That, he says, will be called on again when the Toffees resume hostilities with close-rivals Liverpool in the FA Women’s Cup fifth round, kick-off 2pm at Select Security Halton Stadium in Widnes.
“It’s a big game for the Club and a big game for the players,” he said.
