Ronald Koeman says Yannick Bolasie continues to adopt a positive mental attitude as he approaches the next stage of his recovery from a long-term knee injury.
Bolasie will go under the knife for a second time in early March to repair his torn cruciate ligament.
The winger has already had one operation to fix a ruptured meniscus.
Bolasie sustained his injury innocuously after landing awkwardly during the 1-1 draw with Manchester United in early December.
Speaking on Thursday, Koeman said: “Yannick will have a second surgery at the beginning of March. The surgery was expected because his first surgery was about the meniscus, and now what will happen at the beginning of March is about his cruciate.
