Joel Robles feels he is now in the best form of his Everton career after responding to the challenge of regaining his place in the team.
Robles admits he was ‘frustrated’ last summer when he discovered new signing Maarten Stekelenberg would be starting the season as the first-choice keeper.
The Spaniard channelled this disappointment positively and has got his rewards, playing every match since mid-December -a sequence of 10 successive Premier League appearances.
He has kept six clean sheets in that run and only conceded seven top-flight goals all season.
Joel has pulled off some stunning saves in that time; his agile stop to deny Scott Dann helped earn a win at Crystal Palace and the late finger-tip save from Rudy Gestede was key to Everton taking a point at Middlesbrough last time out on the road.
