Cenk Tosun proved the match-winner as his brace saw Turkey beat Iran 2-1 in an international friendly in Istanbul.
The Everton marksman’s first strike came after just six minutes. Tosun latched on to a Mehmet Topal through ball before brilliantly turning an Iran defender and lashing into the top corner.
The 26-year-old hit his second goal of the night on 50 minutes – and it was another typically ruthless finish from the former Besiktas striker.
Yusuf Yazici was the architect on this occasion – his incisive pass finding Tosun, whose first-time shot from 20 yards left Iran keeper Alireza Beiranvand with no chance.
