Former Everton midfielder Don Hutchison says Tom Davies is “exactly the sort of player you want in a derby match” and believes the 19-year-old boasts both the courage and quality to be a key figure against Liverpool on Saturday.
Hutchison – who played 81 times and scored 11 goals for the Blues during a two-year spell at the Club – is a huge admirer of the Academy graduate.
After an exceptional breakthrough season in 2016/17, this campaign has seen Davies establish himself in boss Sam Allardyce’s first-team plans. Only Jordan Pickford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have racked up more Everton appearances than Davies' 38 matches so far this season.
